Life High School TAFE Students Competed in State Competition

Life High School TAFE Students Competed in State Competition

Several students from Life High School Waxahachie (LHSW) and Life High School Oak Cliff (LHSOC) had the opportunity to compete at the Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) State Competition, held in Dallas on February 26–27.

Reaching the state level is no small feat, and these nine students rose to the occasion, representing Life School with excellence across both campuses.

The following students held the honor of representing Life School at the state competition:

From Life High School Waxahachie:
Mikaela Alejos, Senior
Valentina Cobos, Senior
Natalie Lara, Senior
Tazja Spruill, Senior
Stori Redmond, Senior
Kamryn Washington, Senior

From Life High School Oak Cliff:
Marlon Jones, Junior
Sara Bacon, Junior
Audrey Alba, Senior

These students are part of the Education and Training CTE (Career and Technical Education) program at both LHSW and LHSOC — a four-year program that gives high school students a comprehensive foundation in the field of education, equipping them with the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to become the teachers of tomorrow.

At the state competition, they put those skills to the test, competing in Interactive Bulletin Board, Project Visualize, Children's Literature (Spanish), and Public Speaking.

"By participating in TAFE, students further perfect the skills that they might use as future teachers," said Leigh. "I am so proud of the Life School students and their teachers as they represented their campuses at the area and state competitions."

Life School celebrates each of these students for their dedication, preparation, and passion for the field of education. From the classroom to the state competition stage, they showed what it truly means to be a LifeLeader — and we cannot wait to see the impact they will make as the educators of the future.
